The dropped stitch

The ever changing sea

A morning of getting jobs done. With the calm and bright day it was pleasant to be outside pulling up a few weeds and gathering firewood.

After that, a few hours volunteering at the shop.

We were all prepared for setting out the sandbags at 5pm because once again there's a risk of flooding in the village. Then a message from SEPA arrived to say the flood alert was no longer in force.

Several hours later, the wind suddenly got up. I came back from dancing to see the waves splashing high up and onto the road, and the sea creeping in along front road. I stopped by the shop and piled sandbags at the door.

Better to be safe than sorry.
