Dipples the jewellers, Swan Lane, Norwich

This is, I think, an iconic symbol located in Swan Lane, above Dipples the jewellers. I've blipped the whole lane several times, so am focussing on the swan today. It is a 5th generation family business, which began in 1878 in Woodford, Essex and moved to it's current location in Swan Lane in 1894. It is a proper old fashioned looking shop. I walk past it most days!

At lunch time I thought I'd buy a thermometer as we are told to self isolate if we get a raised temperature. No chance. They've all gone the same way as the hand wash, toilet roll antibacterial spray!! We do have an old one with mercury in it, so I guess will have to use that if we need to.

I baked a few fairy cakes last night for work. A very unusual thing for me on a Thursday evening, but they went down well with my colleagues. They were a little brown at the edges, but I covered them with icing so no one noticed!!

Heading home now, loaded up like a pack horse for my week off. Laptops are going home every day now, incase we are given an instruction to stay at home, or self isolate. I guess it could all be a whole lot different in another week. For now, I plan to enjoy a relatively busy and restful week at the same time, if that's possible! Starting right now...
