Through a window 11
Met my OH for lunch in Manchester City Centre. He was keen to go to a mysterious, non-pretentious, pretentious (their words) place recommended by his work colleagues. Northern Quarter, a brown door between 2 bars. ' Go early', he was told, 'there are queues outside at 12pm'.
So we went early. The door was shut. And there were no queues, but, a small group of people were definitely loitering. We walked around the block and came back to find the door open and a young man stood in the doorway.
We walked towards him, expecting to be 'bounced' for being uncool.
'You want a burger?' he said.
'Yes', we replied.
'Let's do it!', he said, as he bounded up the two flights of stairs, with us following slowly behind.
The menu was short. Burgers and fries (trailer trash wreck fries). We ordered the drinks ' Would you like a glass?'. 'Yes, please'. The glass was a jam jar, as you can see.
In short, we liked it very much. I'm still smiling about the jam jar!
So this is the view of the Northern Quarter's roof tops and my jam jar.
