Shrouded microscopes

The school administration called this morning at 5am with the recorded message that schools are closed through next week. There was a 2-hour window for students to pick up any essentials. So as soon as I could get the car from the shop, I took daughter I. to her science academy. She’s in the midst of junior year research, and wanted to rescue some vials of bacteria from the incubator and stash them in the fridge there for now. I wandered a bit and looked into the window next door, where an anatomical dummy was presiding over an eerily empty lab.
