The Things You Learn About A Person......

I never knew him as a firefighter or as an AFD chaplain or as an active pastor. I didn't know that he loved movies, and popcorn and sweet tea.  I only had the privilege of knowing Fred as a retired pastor serving in our church's nursing home ministry. It was there that I saw his loving heart and gentle touch as he knelt down beside the residents and took their hands and spoke to them about how much God loved them and valued them....That sweet picture is the one I will hold in my memory as I enjoy the bag of popcorn that was handed to me as I left the service...
