Maximum Cat

I mostly stayed at home today but still I seemed to get plenty done. The temperature was around 14F in the mid-morning, and even small excursions brought on a freezing face. I made the best burgers I can remember eating, ever in my life: ground goat, garlic, bacon, bread crumbs, egg, and Sriracha hot sauce. Melted cheese; good coffee, heavy cream.

This is the face of my dear friend Max. By curling up near me and watching me with his beautiful eyes, he tells me that everything will be all right. Let the snow freeze on the window glass, let my labors wait. It is warm and loving at the core of the world, where my hand tucks under Max's belly.
