Fan Palm
One of the few Palm varieties that can survive a North Georgia winter. Not that they are harsh at all, in fact as winters go ours is really one long fall. However the temperature swing between night and day is usually around 30 degrees F. Therefore low 50s during the daytime hours puts you in the mid to low 20s at night. Luckily the Fan Palm can withstand (for only a few hours) temperatures down in the teens. Any lower (and it happens) and I am taping old quilts together to cover this baby at nightfall.
A slow grower, this one is about five years old and seven feet tall.
