Sally Mair - Loving life

Rainbow in Curved A̶i̶r̶... road

That's the title of a Terry Riley album from the late 60's, it had a very distinctive sound. Curved Air, a band I liked in the early 70's used the title as their name. I remember going to see them and in particular their most successful single, Back Street Luv.
Colin and I went into town today, it was a bit wet so w spent some time in the National Gallery. Had a look over the wall at the lower part of East Princes Street Gardens where the fair etc were. The Gardens look like a bomb site. It's hard to see them recovering in time for the summer. The new ramp leading down looks good though and they have planted new trees to replace those that were ripped out last year. I also noticed that several of the steps in the new flight up the side of the gallery have been chipped in a number of places and the faults marked with chalk - presumably for repair. It doesn't bode well for their longevity though, that so many have been damaged so soon after they were installed. There's a lot to be said for our traditional local stone.
We came home and spent the afternoon doing bits and bobs around the house. I realised that I had run out of my sleep tea, so went down to Sainsbury's to get some more - to my horror there was only an empty shelf. My first thought was, surely people aren't panic buying pucca night time tea?
I noticed one lady rushing up the adjacent aisle with two packs of 24 toilet rolls.... How on earth can you use 48 toilet rolls? I was tempted to offer her directions as to where she could find imodium!!!
I headed off down to Waitrose for my tea bags, on the way spotting a beautiful rainbow but by the time I was able to stop safely, much of the fire had gone out of it. You'll just have to use your imagination.
I got my teabags by the way, so I'm a happy bunny!
