A different place
We are in London for a couple of days.
Very wet when we left home this morning but, although still overcast, it is dry here with a benign rather mild wind.
In contrast to our stay back in November we thought we’d stay in a different location so we are on the northern edge of Hyde Park/ Kensington Gardens at Lancaster Gate, Bayswater.
After checking in we headed into the park. Sat outside at a park cafe for a cuppa wandering around Kensington Palace where beautiful magnolia in full bloom in the outdoor cafe.
Continued on to the Albert Memorial and Albert Hall, somewhere I’ve never seen except from a bus before. Here too there were Magnolia Stellata’s in full flower so I chose this for my blip with the trees framing either side of the memorial.
There was a bit of sun and blue sky around but not much. It also looks like there has been a lot on rain here too with large puddles and muddy ground and the odd fallen tree.
We crossed back through the middle of the park. Some lovely blossom trees and lots of Anemone Blanda in flower.
Called in at The Swan pub for a drink. Why is at that I can’t get a wheat beer at home? Thinking about going out to dinner, maybe a Chinese restaurant recommended nearby.
Busy day tomorrow.
