WHERE DO WE GO.....
…..on a wet, windy and murky morning? Jack’s, of course! I was actually out of the house at 7.00 a.m. to do some shopping at our nearby Morrison’s store - and I would like you to know I did not panic-buy any toilet rolls or pasta, although I am considering sending some to a few Australian and American Blip friends who are finding it difficult to find!
As I walked into the store, I saw a man stuffing at least four very large packs of toilet rolls into the boot of his car and when chatting to one of the assistants whilst buying my vegetables, she told me that one lady she served yesterday had bought 30 packs of spaghetti - I can understand 2 or even 5 or perhaps 10, but 30 - really?
I spoke to another lady who was looking for Baking Powder and was able to tell her exactly where it was, so we got into conversation, as you do. We both said that panic buying was ludicrous and she mentioned, as I had, a couple of weeks ago, that if all else failed, there was always newspaper. She did say that she remembered using it when she was much younger, and if you were very posh, you used The Telegraph!
When I got home, the rain was hammering down, so Mr. HCB suggested we went to Jack’s for a coffee - which I was happy to do. We met several friends there and chatted with them, so it was a very pleasant morning and I have to say that Kieran makes the best cup of decaffeinated coffee in the town.
I have mentioned before that they always have lovely flowers on the tables, and this morning was no exception. I decided to do a little fartnarkling with my new iPhone and rather liked this shot, taken in the Portrait mode using the High Key Light Mono setting; I then put a vignette around it and Blip done.
As we were walking out of Jack’s, one of the handymen called me over and asked me if I was on Wiltshire Radio - I told him I wasn’t but I was on a programme on Swindon 105.5 on a Wednesday morning called “Girls About Town” to which he said, “That’s it! That’s what I listen to and I thought it was the Maureen I knew although your voice sounds a bit different on the radio.” He went on to say that his claim to fame now would be that he knew someone famous - I told him I wasn’t sure about that - but he seemed happy to have discovered that he listened every week to our programme.

people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget
how you made them feel.”

P.S. I have never received a beautiful hand decorated envelope before, but was thrilled to receive the one you can see as an extra - how special that makes me feel! Thank you so much, you know who you are! M xx
