Success!
As I was getting ready to leave in the morning I heard noise from the front of the house - the scaffolders had arrived! Then the builders came and the wordburner guy! Seemed a good day to be going out!
The horses in the field belonging to my dog minder were not looking very happy! It always seems to be raining when I take Oscar there! He was not happy to be left as it was the son who received him and he had not met him before! This made me anxious and when I got to Ikea I rang to check he was ok - which of course he was!
I went straight to the sofas and yay - I could order a legless one! I also bought a swivel chair and a wooden 3 step ladder as I'm having boxed shelving and will need to get access to them! On my way out I spotted a rather lovely lampshade which I bought fo the meditation room! Made of sheets of rectangular paper with flexible metal edges, you fold it to resemble a cloud! Very suitable for my room!
I picked up Oscar on my way back and arrived home to see the woodburner guy and my builder on the roof! What an incredible bit of scaffolding - up the front of my front door then across and up again to the chimney pots! Whilst they had done a good job on that they made a right mess of my garden - bluebells trampled and a massive pot of tulips moved on top of another huge pot of cyclamen and more tulips! Having checked on the work in the kitchen I went and got Ginger for a walk! I arrived back to watch the slate hearth being brought in and laid. It was one huge piece and was very heavy - and very tricky to fit! They had to chissel off the sides of the fireplace to get it in, then place it in and out 3 times as it was uneven and more concrete had to be put in! They were exhausted by the end of it! All photoshere! It's the builders sons 10th birthday so I gave him a pinata for his party on Saturday! One more thing got rid of!
