Heater Rigg

Up early to travel to and set up the start for our clubs Orienteering event at Heater Rigg above Helmsley. A showery start but the sun did put in an appearance. In between putting out maps for the competitors I had a bit of time to take some photos.

This is James who I introduced to the sport when he was seven. It is a treat to see him still involved with the sport and doing well. He even drives his university team mates to events.

The area was quite physical and recent forestry work had churned up the ground which was already very wet. It took several attempts to free my toes from the ingrained black mud!  Rather glad to get back home for a hot bath and cuppa.
