Ockham Common

It has been a day of mixed weather - the morning was largely sunny and bright but we have had rain in between. We took Xena to Ockham Common for a walk and bumped into L the dog sitter with the 11 month old Dalmatian she is currently looking after. Xena was thrilled to see her again, she got lots of doggie kisses from her. She had fun playing with the Dalmatian who is not good at recall so playing with Xena helped as when Xena came back he would also follow her back to us. L did say she was missing well behaved Xena!

When we got home Gavin went out for a run, as he has a few half marathons coming up, and he got caught in a heavy downpour of rain. I made a vegetable mulligatawny soup for lunch, and then we went to the cinema to see Military Wives which we both enjoyed very much, just the kind of pick up one needs after the depressing news about Coronavirus and the world gone mad on panic buying.

We enjoyed watching the England vs Wales rugby match yesterday, and thankfully England won despite being two players short. I felt the red card was unfortunate, I know it had to be given but it was such bad luck the way momentum carried the player into the offending position.
