A beautiful morning....

to visit Findlater Castle, the ruined fifteenth century castle set high on the cliffs above the Firth. It has had a chequered history, involved in skirmishes for the Scottish crown, owned by the Ogilvie family, then the Gordons and the Ogilvies again.
There were Celandines flowering and Fulmars nesting on the crag.
The snow is still visible on the Caithness hills opposite.
Temperatures rose here to 10C!
