And the winners are......

Us!! 

I am emotionally drained after a very successful day for the Somerset YFC Public speaking teams. This year I trained three teams, the Junior Readers, the Junior Public Speakers and The Call My Bluff team. Next year I may have a rethink on this! 

So after the past three weeks of intensive training off we went to Newquay for the South West Area YFC competitions weekend to see if we could gain a place in the Nation finals in June. There was riding on these results.

First off were my Junior Readers who were very good and produced a lovey performance, however so did the other five teams! It proved to be a very tight result with us coming 4th. A little disappointed on their behalf but they really did as best they could.

Then it was the Junior Public Speakers who turned in a terrific performance, and so did the other five teams!! But this time we managed to gain 2nd and as a result they are off to the National Finals for the second year running.

Finally it was the turn of the Call my Bluff team who had been thrown together at the last minute. I had to train them separately as we could not get them all together. They performed their sock off and WON!! See photo. So they too are off to the national finals too! 

I then headed to my room with the Somerset Cheerleaders team to get then changed and made up. And no I did not train them!!  However two of the team were also in the Public Speaking. These youngsters are amazing and turn their hand to so many things. See extra.

Result, one shattered trainer!!  But what amazing competitors, all of them. See extras for the other two teams.
