Sane At Izer
Or perhaps, because it’s Saturday Insane At Izer.
So what’s the old f*** at today.
Well we have been experimenting with making hand sanitiser.
We cannot risk Mrs W picking up an infection as the drugs for her RA supress her immune system, and with the shops out of stock home made seems the best way forward. Washing hands when at home is no problem, but that just does not work in most public places - where are all these hand-washing stations???
My first formulas were a disaster. Ethanol just does not mix with baby lotion, nor baby oil. The baby lotion mix just looked like frog spawn, and separated out, and the baby oil version is part of the blip.
So we tried glycerine (NOT the nitro stuff!), and that is also in the blip, guess which one - well it worked.
The final mixture will be about a quarter glycerine to three quarters either meths (in the blip) or surgical spirit.
How did the blip come about? Well the two bottles were standing on the kitchen windowsill at lunch time, and the sun was shining through them making a great image. I have spent over an hour trying to replicate what the sun gave me, and finally gave up. This is the best I can manage, and the rugby starts very shortly.
So this is my Silly Saturday offering.
Many thanks to Admirer for hosting Silly Saturday.
