old friends

The 'garden' is finally accessible.  We uncover all the plant pots and ornaments that have spent the winter under a heavy tarpaulin, weighed down with bricks and pieces of old timber, to keep the worst of the weather at bay.

To our surprise and delight everything has survived the move to our new home.  We've not seen some of these things since this time last year when they were bundled into a removal van.

If you're looking at the wall and wondering about the skill of the builders, I can assure you they've made a beautiful job of enclosing our outdoor space.  This old wall is part of another building and will eventually be replaced or stabilised.

We're hoping to keep it - the ivy that grows at the top of it appears to be home to a blackbird and a wren.  Not together, obviously.  Although the result of such a union would be something to see.
