Orca whales have fins like sharks!
I took Evan to the Japanese-American Historical plaza, home of some famous and fabulous cherry trees, because I have plans to be away next Thursday and was afraid we would miss the blossoming this year. It's too early, as you can see, but he had fun climbing over the old iron boat hitches, scaling the walls, and asking me to read him the poems inscribed on rocks, (see Extra) telling the sad story of Japanese internment.
"Did children have to go to jail too?" Yes. "And now Trump is doing that again, isn't he?" Yes.
A moment of deep concern, and then a complete non-sequitur, the whales and sharks.
Sue and I have plans to leave Thursday for a short vacation in Long Beach, Washington, which is just barely north of the Oregon border, on the coast. There have been no cases of Coronavirus there, but we are re-thinking the trip. Is it wise? Do we err on the side of caution? Should we have a Staycation instead?
