Recovering

You might not believe it, but these have been carrying me around for [NUMBER WITHHELD] years.

The left leg was badly infected, the knee particularly so. Yesterday, after so many adventures on the other side of the NHS looking glass, my knee was partially aspirated (7ml taken off, about 30ml left inside) and steroids injected.

Today, the pain and swelling are much reduced and I can get up and down the stairs without the crutches. I have spent much of the day catching up on lost sleep. This evening I cooked a fish and chorizo stew for an exhausted MrsDroog, who has looked after me magnificently.
