Cover of Nine Inch Nails Treznor Razors’ track perhaps about addiction, depression, suicide, but made his own by Johnny Cash recorded in his last months of life.

If I had a top ten it would be in here, (probably along with another 9 songs to make you cry).
 
My current work finds me working with homeless people and sex workers often, their lives as lived out and their pasts are so different to mine, but somehow this cover by Mr Cash helps me find connection as well as connecting me with my own mortality and life and loving.
 
My previous work would have found me working with dying patients often, and prescribing morphine for symptom control, hearing this reminds me of all the morphine I’ve ever prescribed.
 
The video that accompanies the Johnny Cash cover comes with a health warning,, so much in popular music culture is refined, auto tuned and beatified, take if from me despite the wonderful cinematography this is real. Don’t view if your feeling wobbely.
