In The Balmy South

I went to Rutland Water today hoping to get some bird pictures (which I did) but my favourite vista was supplied by this group of lasses. They are Hebridean sheep and are favoured by the farmer here as he has no indoor sheep facility and they are hardy enough to overwinter outside. This flock had just been moved though, to higher and drier ground, as the wet ground can cause footrot troubles.

I've worked on a farm but my knowledge is limited - I'm just relaying what I was told by the pleasant shepherd lad in attendance!
