Indian Myna (Acridotheres tristis)
Charmaine and Ronnie rescued this one when she was still a teeny weeny baby. They picked her up on the sidewalk about 500mt from our complex's main entrance. She was badly hurt, her left knee had a big wound and was very red and swollen. There is just no way you will get us to turn a blind eye to a little thing in distress!
A lot of antibiotic ointment and lots of syringes filled with liquidised AviPlus Mynah pellets, she grew into a big girl, eating a lot of worms and lots of fresh fruit daily, but the little leg is totally useless, we can't even consider letting her go, she will not be able to look after herself.
In this photo she is being fed meal worms! Ohhh, yummy!! ;-)
Apparently they can be taught to speak, will most probably do it better than a parrot! We can't wait to start teaching her to talk to us!! Hehehe!
