Eventually, it will be safer

Since August 2019 work has been underway in Karangahape Road. Billed as the provision of cycleways along K Road, the work has involved new pipes and waste disposal, and reconstituting the edgeof the road, as well as providing a 1m wide cycle path along both sides of the road. It does appear as if much of the current work is nearly finished. Currently, cycling through K Road still requires that the cyclist avoids the big trucks and buses that dominate the road traffic. THe plethora of cones serves to control the traffic, including we cyclists.
