A couple of goldfinches...

.. turned out to be the star entertainers at the RHS bird hide this morning.

I was trying out an Olympus 300mm lens which I was able to borrow on free loan, using the Olympus Test&Wow arrangement at our local camera shop.

I originally borrowed the lens to spend today photographing kingfishers (an experience day that was a Christmas gift). Unfortunately, the event was cancelled because of flooding, but I still went ahead with the loan of the lens and put it through its paces.

I enjoyed using the excellent lens but am not sure I want to invest in one at the moment.
