Israeli pottery
As I may have mentioned a few times I love pottery and have collected a few pieces from my travels. Although there's something very satisfying about both looking at and holding a beautiful refined piece, I tend to prefer the coarser, more traditionally-made and -decorated ceramics. The fact that they are usually cheaper probably has something to do with that preference!
This little piece was given to me a few years ago by P, for whom I am currently house-sitting, when she returned from a job in Israel. The fired clay is simply decorated, a centimetre thick and the unglazed side is uneven and blackened. I love it!
I was all set to dog-sit Skye for the day while her mistress went skiing in Glenshee, but the trip was postponed because the road was still closed. Maybe tomorrow...
