Naked in the snow

When we woke up this morning the temperature was showing -7 degrees, it was very foggy and there's still a lot of snow on the ground. I was due to go Nordic walking today, and my friend contacted the organiser to see if it was still on due to the weather - she confirmed it was, but it would have been funny if they'd cancelled it due to the snow!

So I put my thermals on under my waterproof clothes, got my rubber walking boots together with my Dad's crampons that mum gave me, and my sticks, and off I went. At least it was a real Nordic walk today, and we did over 8 kms in thick snow. The scenery was beautiful, it really was a good workout, and the crampons what they were supposed to, as I didn't slip at all.

When we'd finished I walked up to the chateau to take some photos, but due to the fog I couldn't really see very much. It helped wearing my waterproof pants as I could sit in the snow to take some shots without getting wet, but I really like this one of the naked girl with her hoola hoop. If you look closely you can see the ice on her hands, and on the hoola hoop - I think it was a bit cold to be doing that today!

In other news today, Louis went to be groomed, and I met a friend for an unexptected lunch while he was there, followed by a bit of shopping in the sales. We both wanted new boots and we both found what we wanted in the first shop we went into - that doesn't happen very often! Then when I went to pick Louis up, I bought him a new coat - the groomers that he goes to has a shop as well, and as he old one is getting a bit tight, I thought he'd better have a new one. It's a nice bright red one, so I won't lose him in the snow now ;-)
