A Towering Ornamental Kale

The gorgeous kale that I have growing in a container with other winter-loving plants is towering! See my entry from November 5, 2019 to view in all its glory. Kale does this...as  you may know. Just like any of the brassicas, it will actually get very tall and form flowers as it goes to seed. I've never let an ornamental kale stay in a pot long enough to watch it go to seed, but look at this picture! I think I will have to be patient and let this happen just so I can see it!

Meanwhile, the day was darned cold, gray and drizzling...the day you really want to be curled up by the fire with book and tea. But that was not the plan and I actually had a very pleasant day. I went to Cardio Pilates...yes, it's a real thing, and yes, it's REALLY hard, followed by a well-deserved lunch out with a dear friend whom I hadn't seen in several years. This afternoon a meeting with the botanical garden folks, followed by a quick wander in the garden for today's blip.

So what do you think? Should I let the kale go to seed?
