Gang
Three things.
Firstly, I went out on the bike for the afternoon, first ride in a fortnight. It felt good, I rode on a couple of roads I'd never ridden on before. I even kept it together pretty much on the headwind slog home.
Secondly, I went out at teatime to see The True History Of The Kelly Gang. I loved it, as much for its completely uncompromising attitude as for its performances, cinematography, soundtrack, out-there nature and sheer verve. Best not to read anything about it, the more surprises in the cinema the better. My partner even used the word 'visionary' to describe it on the way home, whilst straight afterwards saying she didn't actually 'enjoy' it 100%. It's savage and beautiful alright, but perhaps not for everyone.
Thirdly, I went out twenty five years ago to this very day to see a tiny PJ Harvey gig at The Gardens Nightclub in Yeovil. Only a couple of hundred people there, a ridiculously small stage, and as Polly Jean swished her way on to the aforementioned ridiculously small stage dressed in the red gown and piled up raven hair from the 'To Bring You My Love' album cover we all knew that we were in for something very special indeed - wow!!
