Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

Cold weather, hot soup.

Last night I battled through the snow, to Aberdeen, to attend my class in Thai cookery. I wonder if, in Bangkok, some-one was battling through the sweltering heat to their Scottish cookery course, there to learn how to stuff a haggis and how to chap their neeps. Almost certainly not!

Anyway, Mrs Talpa and I have just enjoyed the fruits of my labours with a fine lunch of Tom Yum and Coconut Milk soups. The chillies should keep us warm for the rest of the day, and well beyond!

Perhaps, when the weather improves, I will collect some driftwood and build a rustic shack on the beach from which to dispense Thai cuisine. Best book now before it becomes popular!
