Lights, and Action!

First day back at work after several days of packing and cleaning. The removal guys left yesterday and there is calm again at no. 39. Until the 1st Feb at any rate.

So, I'm back at work today but decided to make a change, and actually go out for lunch. The girls at work talked about The Candy Kitchen & Bar and its menus at under a fiver (£5).

I wasn't sure what to expect but as soon as I took the steps down to its basement entrance, I was wonderfully surprised: contemporary, clean lines yet woody in feel and smell.

For some reason the place brings back memories of Copenhagen's old corner bars, the steps leading down to their entrance and the old stone fireplaces moulded into the corner of the room, 'cradled' and protected by the surrounding walls.

I have the same feeling as I did In Copenhagen, namely, I am on holiday and that this is a treat!
