Going after the peanut

Today was bright and sunny, the wind was light and was starting to warm up. I got out for a walk in the morning and fed some cardinals that were out looking for peanuts. I generally crack the peanut but in this case I did not do it and the cardinal tried to pick it up but failed. Once he flew off I picked it back up and cracked the shell, he came back and was able to pick it up and flew off.
