Schneebedeckt

I collected Dan after the opening show of 'Grease' last night and, as we approached Cumbria, the snow grew heavier and heavier until, by the time we were on the A65, I'd had to slow down to just over twenty miles an hour. Dan was optimistic that school would be closed in the morning and that he'd get a lie-in.

Sadly, he was wrong, although the hills were still snow covered, this morning. And it was just as well as I had a busy day and being snowed in was the last thing I needed.

It started off with a call while I was driving to Warrington for a meeting and then I had another call after that when I drove over to Manchester to look at some office space, which turned out to be just across the road from where Hannah works.

Then I met up with Simon in The Anthologist before we all went for dinner at Bab. I say "all" because by the time we got to the restaurant it was me and Simon, the Minx, Simon's partner, and two of my daughter's, Charlie and the aforementioned Hannah.

I was so impressed by Simon, whose festival, Not Quite Light, has come 'round again. Despite having loads on his plate, which we chatted about at The Anthologist, he seemed quite relaxed and happy. Certainly he was great company at dinner, as was everyone else!
