Sights from my Bike Ride
This is my Leap Day blip, backblipped a day late.
It was an interesting weather day yesterday as illustrated in my collage. The clouds were moving quickly and sometimes looked very foreboding but other times the sun was shining brightly. When the big dark cloud in the bottom right started taking over the sky, I was about 12 miles from home. I was sure I was going to get wet, so I put on my rain jacket and started toward home. Before I got there, the cloud had moved off and the sun was shining again. It got so warm I had to stop and take off my jacket. All in all it was a good 24 mile ride but there was a lot of traffic, being Saturday, and I still had to avoid the dirt roads so I was in the thick of it most of the time. Fortunately, there are ample shoulders on most of the roads.
Becky invited us for dinner and a movie last night so I took a quick shower and we went to her house. She made yummy lasagna and I made a salad and brought crusty Italian bread. Before my ride I baked her favorite Italian pizzelles for dessert. After stuffing ourselves, we watched "Knives Out" on their giant TV (85 inches). It's almost like being in the theater! It was a silly and entertaining "whodunit" with a great cast.
I tried to put my collage together when we got home last night but my eyes kept closing so that's why it's late. We are expecting snow to start here in a few hours so I'm having an inside day and hoping to catch up on all your journals. PD already has a fire going. :-)
I am grateful that I had two nice bike rides before the snow starts flying again! Yesterday's ride put me over 500 miles on the new bike since I got it in September. :-))
