Boston Needs A New Name

Given the fact that our fair city is world renowned for its dizzying array of universities and colleges, and also recognizing the incredible building boom currently taking place here, I submit that we change Boston's name to ... (drum roll, please) ... CRANE-IUM.

The pair of red cranes in the main image are part of a construction project a few blocks from us which will be known as Winthrop Center -- a mixed use tower incorporating office space, luxury condominiums, shops, and restaurants.  It will be one of the tallest buildings in the city once it's completed, rising to almost 700 feet.  It will be interesting to document the construction progress over the next several months. 

The extra collage shows a total of eight cranes visible from our apartment windows!
