A weekend of football that actually became an afternoon of football.
Unsurprisingly the P6 game was postponed; pitch was deemed unplayable. So there was no mad panic to pack up and ship out; instead we got a 19 up town; strolled the length of Princes St in the sunshine before boarding the 1233 to Liverpool Lime St...an odd route for our train to Newcastle, but hey....
Just after 2 we stepped out into an already gathering throng of black and white wearing football fans. We strolled up towards the ground before a wander around outside...mostly just to rest before the Herculean task of getting to row X; the second last row in the back of the Milburn Stand.
After Airdrie v Forfar and Edinburgh City v Stirling, Newcastle v Burnley was a different beast altogether.
Alex predictably was wide eyed and grinning. Until they started playing, of course.
Actually as 0-0 draws go, there were some flashes of class, but more disappointing for Alex was the lack of any VAR decisions; he wanted to see that more than anything.
Oh well. Anyway, back to the station via the club shop, train and bus home before St Mirren v Aberdeen then EFL on Quest round off a day of footy
