Yum kipper
I knew I'd be spending this Sunday at my screen so bought a kipper (smoked herring) from the Queen's Park farmers market. The last time I had one for breakfast was at The Craws Nest in Anstruther.
They are incredibly easy to prepare and very tasty. Just soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes.
The only skill you require is in eating them. The four fillets slide away quite easily but you've got to pull them away from where the spine used to be. If not you'll have a mouthful of pin bones.
