Ready to Leap
...into March!
I didn't venture from the house today other than to refill the feeders and bird baths. Definitely have the crud with tightness in my chest, head congestion and a massive headache. As a consequence, I've spent most of the day curled on the sofa in front of the fire. Resulting in very little to show for the day and even less to report.
Today's bird is one of a dozen male red-winged blackbirds who were eyeing up the cracked corn and sunflower seeds.
Last night was another busy night on the patio, although the only visitors were raccoons. I think there are at least 4 individual raccoons coming around, although it's somewhat hard to tell. But two always come together (females most likely as males don't hang together) and two solos. And at first light, the turkeys showed up - to be met with an empty bird bath and feeders! At one point, I looked out the window and spied the tom all settled down in the woods, having a rest. It's kind of odd seeing turkeys roost on the ground and was worth a quick shot which you can see in Extra.
And that's a wrap for today.
