Already Among You

The Lent verse today is Luke 17:(20 and)21:

Jesus, grilled by the Pharisees on when the kingdom of God would come, answered, “The kingdom of God doesn’t come by counting the days on the calendar. Nor when someone says, ‘Look here!’ or, ‘There it is!’ And why? Because God’s kingdom is already among you.”

Wherever people are loving each other, being kind, doing their brave best to make this world a better place, especially for the least, there is God's kingdom.

Today we did a long round trip, visiting people, sharing food and our lives together; these two are Madalena and Eberson, who arrived in the Alentejo, with their twin 11yr old girls, from a privileged life in Brazil, on the 1st January - wanting to make a difference in a small, forgotten town called Montargil.

Gratefuls:

- calling in on J and E, and being so warmly received
- Brazilian rice and black beans with Paul, in Évora, on the way back
