Dennis

Last night we both suddenly felt we needed to come south to see Dennis, an old friend who is very ill. He looks so well but all his arteries are in a bad way and he is waiting in hospital till his operation in Papworth. It has been postponed twice but he’s supposed to go up there on 3March for quadruple bypass on 4th. Fingers crossed it goes well.

The long drive south (300 miles) to Ipswich was horrible in the rain and heavy traffic but we were able to spend a couple of hours with him this evening. He’s in good spirits. We are staying with his ex partner who is an even older friend. So nice to spend time with her too. All very unexpected but it’s lovely to be here.
