Blossom in the rain

After yesterdays sun on blossom, today it was rain and this morning it could have been sleet and snow.  The snow has gone now and it’s back to rain, which is gathering in puddles at the edge of the grass.  Compared to many in this country at the moment we are warm and comfortable and dry inside and as the rain continues to fall a river of water flows down the road.

We risked a shopping trip late morning when the sleet was turning to rain.  We didn’t drive far uphill before we encountered snow falling and then sleet once more as we travelled downhill to Silkstone Common.  The   pavement outside the bakers was treacherous, though the Co-op carpark was a little better.  We didn’t go further than there for our essentials shopping today but our trip out meant we had a good lunch on a day when the cupboard was bare!
