Thursday: Strand Books

Well, today didn’t pan out quite as I expected.  The day was fine - it was our diversity and inclusion conference which was pretty interesting.

It was the evening that went a bit awry.  I was due to fly to Toronto tonight but when I got to Penn Station there was a significant signal failure so no trains were running.  As I had a flight to catch, I decided to take a cab to Newark.  We were just heading through Manhattan when I got an email to say my flight was cancelled due to bad weather.  That also meant there was no chance of getting another flight tonight.

So here I am, still in NYC.  I booked back into the hotel where I stayed last night and decided to make the most of the evening.  My book browsing yesterday was interrupted by the excitement of bumping into Joe, so I headed back to Strand Books for some proper browsing.  I’m very pleased to report I didn’t purchase anything.......

In the meantime, Air Canada have rebooked me for Sunday......suffice to say, my assistant’s on it.......
