Yes Nanny
My late father-in-law was a Scot, and introduced his English wife to a weekly Scottish woman’s magazine. She loved it, and for many years would pass it on to me.
I’ve only bought it occasionally since she died, but I treated myself to one today. As usual I read it from back to front, beginning at the readers’ letters page.
Nice to see they’re still giving a tin of lovely Scottish shortbread to the writer of every week’s star letter, but what’s this in the small print ?
“ Consume as part of a balanced diet “ ?!
In that case I’d better have a biscuit in each hand I suppose.
Haud yer wheesht, as father-in-law would have put it.
