Brandenberg Alps / Rofangebirge

The promised refresh of snow arrived overnight, to top up the cover in the higher areas around the Achensee and to replace the snow lost over the last few days at lake level (see the extra).  

We headed a couple of miles down the valley and up into the Rofangebirge - the highest local ski area.  The snow showers have been coming and going throughout the day, but a longer gap between showers during the morning suited our plans perfectly.

[The Strudel of the Day theme hasn't always panned out - but rest assured there is no shortage of fine cake in this part of Austria.  Today's morning coffee was accompanied by pancakes and apple sauce.]
