Skiddaw
After the high water levels of yesterday, and with so many low level routes underwater, we decided to go high today. We knew it was unlikely that we'd reach the top, but after more heavy rain in the morning, we set off around lunchtime. Forecast winds of 45mph were conservative - we certainly had winds considerably stronger than that, but managed to get well over the snow line. Both the main pic and the extra shows the weather systems coming through and we walked through hail and snow, as well as high winds. By the time we got up to Little Man and Lesser man, visibility was getting very bad, so we turned round and came back down.
