Travel Clock

I have been trying to clean up this little travel clock that was rescued from my dad's house. 

I remember it sitting by my gran's bed when I was little and I loved to play with it. I still think it is rather glamorous with its pale pink cowhide exterior.

I'm not sure what to use to clean the metal frame and I'm not sure what the metal will be. Any suggestions?
