Thawing

Temperature just above freezing for the first time in a few days,and the cold weather hasn't stopped these daffodil shoots growing. In the last few years the flowers have appeared as early as January,but the cold spell will delay them a little. In the bitter winter of 1963 daffodils didn't arrive until the big thaw in March,and very welcome they were too.
