The dropped stitch

Scapa Flow on a Stormy Saturday

Gale force winds, sunshine, hail, rainbow and that was all in the space of a 30 minute lunch break sheltering in the car.

Crossing the Barriers wasn't pleasant today. You can't see the waves coming, until suddenly the windscreen is drenched and for a moment visibility is zero. Slowly and calmly is the only way.

Timed the return trip to avoid high tide and was very glad indeed to get home and spend an evening by the fire.
