A Rwandan Tail
This is Lionel the Gecko, found on the kitchen wall during my abortive attempt to make a classic East African Dish - the chapatti roll (Rwanda) or Rolex (Uganda). Essentially am omelette in a chapatti, rolled up - yet so much more than the sum of its parts.
Today, I have been mostly...
Working on creating a strategic plan and monitoring and evaluation strategy for the organisation, as at the moment programs being run a little too blindly to be properly effective. Easier said than done, but an interesting challenge and one that, if it works out as planned, will definitely have a tangible and positive impact - motivation is high and ideas are shooting around like crazy. Much more like what I signed up for.
Also spent some time hunting down non-fiction kindle books; having taken the opportunity to read plenty of fiction I've decided to tackle some history, starting with the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." Broadening horizons and all that. Also unsuccessfully seeking a place to buy a haggis in anticipation of Burns Night - impromptu poetry recitals throughout the day will have to do:
"O, wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as others see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
An' foolish notion."
