Upper Limit

Braving blizzard and puddles we went down to Peebles, walking to town from the Kingsmeadow carpark, close to the river.
The height that the Tweed would have reached recently is demonstrated by a mass of debris caught on a riverside tree. There is a similar mass on the opposite bank, all matching that piled next to the fence surrounding the children's play area.
There is much water lying in the fields, appreciated by the geese stopping off for a feed and rest before flying back north for breeding (extra, taken from the road). I am not clear on goose ID, so these may be greylag or pinkfooted - learned Blippers, please clarify!
