Memorial Service

A Memorial Service for them who passed away over the past 6 months was held at the nursing home where mam lived her final years. Both my sisters and I attended that, together with others who've lost their beloved ones. A nice and respectful service, not explicitly in one religion, but spiritual and open to all faiths.
It struck me that not all of them remembered in this service had relatives attending this service; either they have no next of kin anymore, or they live far away and some do live abroad. Volunteers and nurses came forward to commemorate them, like we relatives commemorated our dearests.
